Dr. Ovidiu Văduvescu involved in this project developed for more than 15 years the European Near Earth Asteroid Research network (EURONEAR). Today, our network (for which dr. Văduvescu is the P.I.) includes 35 members from nine countries. This group includes both professional astronomers, students and experienced amateur astronomers. Dr. Văduvescu coordinates Ph. D. thesis at Craiova Univesity (three students up to now). He has more than 15 years experience as a staff astronomer on various large telescopes, including the Isaac Newton Group from La Palma (Spain). He published 85 refereed papers (33 as first author) with subjects related to Solar System science, observational methods and instrumentation, and other astronomy related topics. He was the main co-I of the NEARBY project (funded by a Romanian Space Agency contract) which deployed in 2019 a web-based platform to detect moving objects in astronomical surveys using the traditional blink method. Dr. Vaduvescu collaborated with many Romanian students and amateurs, producing many Romanian and international premieres among which the scientific articles in renowned international journals co-authored by Romanian students and amateurs, first observing runs at famous astronomical observatories in La Palma and Chile attended by Romanian amateur astronomers and students, and the discovery of the first 11 NEAs from La Palma and few hundred main belt asteroids from Chile and La Palma.
